2025 BE ELITE FLAG FOOTBALL | – Hayward High School

Be Elite Flag Football is super excited to be partnering with Hayward High School and the Hayward High School Football Program, in bringing an exciting brand of youth Flag Football to the local community!

Site Directors:

Alex Niuatoa

Coach Alex Niuatoa has been coaching high school football since 2019. His education is in the field of kinesiology. He’s worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Holy Names University and as a Master Personal Trainer in San Francisco since 2015 before becoming a teacher. Coach Alex currently works as a PE teacher, strength & conditioning coach and assistant football coach at Hayward High.

Coach Alex grew up in Hayward and is an alumnus of Hayward High. He played college football at Laney College before transferring to Kansas Wesleyan University where he played both offensive and defensive line. Coach Alex lives in Hayward with his partner and has a 2-year-old son who he loves spending time with when he is not coaching. He believes that football is a vehicle that can be used to help people develop the necessary tools to be successful in life.

Virgil Hart

Coach Virgil Hart has been coaching football both at the college level and high school level for 8 plus years. Coach Hart has coached on the NAIA level at Montana Western University and NCAA FBS Level at Northwestern State University. He currently works as a Social Emotional Counselor and is the Head Coach of the football program at Hayward High School.

Coach Hart’s playing career consists of multiple levels. Coach Hart played at Laney Community College and transferred to the University of San Diego. Coach Hart grew up in Hayward and is an alumnus of Hayward High. He is married to his high school sweetheart and is an active member of the community of Hayward. Coach Hart’s belief is to help build men and women for others by using the game of Football.

About Be Elite Flag Football

The Be Elite Flag Football program is offered to all participants from kindergarten through 8th grade. Be Elite was started and created by high school coaches and players that were wanting to find a way to create unique programs that would incorporate student-athletes as mentor coaches and to show youth athletes a positive, energetic, fundamental, and competitive experience.

❖ All teams will play in all 8 weeks regardless of
their playoff seeding and/or outcome.

How Our League Works

Season: The season will run 8 straight weekends, starting Sunday, January 12th and finishing on Sunday, March 2nd. All practices and games will be held at Hayward High School.

Practice and Game Schedule: All practices and games will be held on the same day at Hayward High School. Each day will start with a one-hour practice followed by a game. Be Elite Flag Football is a parent friendly one stop shop schedule (no other practices will be scheduled).

Divisions based on Grade Level:: Each division will be separated by participants grade level. Each player must play in their designated grade level and will not be allowed to play down to any grade level. (Depending on registrations, some divisions may be combined)

Team Roster Size:10 players maximum per team, limited exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Registration Fees: $185/player includes an official custom game jersey and
shorts. Use of facility and other equipment offerings.

Game Play: Games are played in a 5 on 5 flag format within a contact-free
environment. Players will switch sides of the ball so as to get experience on
Offense and Defense. Four games will be played simultaneously on a
regulation football field with each game field length of 40 yards.

Equipment: Players must wear mouth guards for ALL games to participate.
Players must wear shorts/pants with NO pockets.
Football cleats or athletic shoes are recommended.

Coaching and Volunteers: All teams are assigned a Student-Athletes/Mentor as the
Head Coach/Mentor to their respective team. Parent volunteers can ASSIST our
student-athletes and help them in their role as the Head Coach.
